Very interesting article Alain. We live in a time when contention is inevitable because capitalism is completely globally dominant and therefore is unable to continue to expand in order to maintain itself. To prepare ourselves for this conflict the Socialist movements of the world need to mature out of some of the dogma of previous socialist and communist movements and state projects. I find Kohei Saito's work on the evolution of Karl Marx's thinking on industrial development and ecology in his book "Slow Down" to be relevant to the question of how we as socialists should try to mature our movements.

Wow, fantastic analysis upon first quick reading. (I am headed back to my organic farm job, where I try to contribute to the parallel society, and local individual and collective agency :)
